The landmark verdicts were secured for the plaintiffs with the support of attorneys from Longview-based law firm Miller Fair Henry, who collaborated with lead trial counsel in local trial strategy and judicial processes in the Eastern District.

Most recently, a jury on Oct. 10 delivered a verdict of $445.5 million to Collision Communications Inc. after finding that Samsung infringed four patents related to wireless communication interference reduction used in its mobile devices. The plaintiffs’ legal team was led by Brad Caldwell, Chris Stewart, Justin Nemunaitis, Aisha Haley, and other attorneys at Caldwell Cassady & Curry.

On Sept. 29, a separate jury awarded $78.5 million to Anonymous Media Research Holdings Inc. after finding Samsung infringed on two patents covering technology used to measure media consumption in its televisions. Attorneys including Jason McManis and Weining Bai at Houston-based Ahmad, Zavitsanos & Mensing (AZA), as well as Warren McCarty of The McCarty Firm served as lead counsel.

“We are extremely pleased with these outcomes for our clients,” said Miller Fair Henry partner Andrea Fair, who conducted jury selection and examined witnesses in both trials.

“Our firm is dedicated to assisting teams in presenting their cases to juries to the best of our experience and ability. We are gratified by the opportunity to assist other firms in gaining significant verdicts in high-stakes intellectual property cases, and we look forward to many more opportunities to work with such talented lawyers as those in these cases.”

The cases are Collision Communications Inc. v. Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. and Samsung Electronics America, Inc., No. 2:23-cv-00587, and Anonymous Media Research Holdings LLC v. Samsung Electronics America Inc., No. 2:23-cv-00439.
