Postmedia Takes Strategic Step to Strengthen Long-Term Sustainability

TORONTO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Postmedia is acting decisively to position itself for growth and sustainable long-term performance. As the company adapts to shifting consumer behaviours, and a rapidly changing media landscape, it is taking deliberate steps to strengthen its position as Canada’s leading media voice and a trusted partner for businesses across the country.

Following a comprehensive review of its flyer distribution operations across Canada, Postmedia has made the strategic decision to exit the flyer distribution business. This transition reflects a clear focus on directing investment and resources towards areas of greatest impact and future opportunity, while strengthening the company’s ability to serve communities and businesses across the country through our award-winning journalism and wider business portfolio.

Flyer distribution operations will exit markets on a phased basis beginning June 8 and completing in full by August 31, 2026.

This decision will impact approximately 50 full-time and 200 part-time roles connected to Postmedia’s flyer distribution network. Postmedia is committed to supporting affected employees through this transition.

Postmedia is engaging clients and partners to ensure a smooth transition and is focused on working together in ways that better reflect changing consumer habits and continue to deliver meaningful value.

This decision will allow Postmedia to keep pace with industry change, respond to consumer preferences, and maintain its role as Canada’s voice. Postmedia’s journalism, brands, businesses and people continue to touch communities, support local businesses, and contribute to public conversation across the country.
