The RCS archival feature on Google Pixel is designed with compliance and administrative control in mind. For IT administrators, enabling archival is a straightforward configuration process within Android Enterprise; it is defaulted off and can be activated by simply specifying the package name of the designated archival application. Once configured, the system facilitates the logging of every significant RCS message event – including when a message is sent, received, edited, or deleted. This technical implementation ensures that archival applications have a timely opportunity to capture message data before any potential user modifications, such as deleting a message.
