Metronet Brings 100% Fiber Internet to Peoria in Major Arizona Expansion

$58.5 Million Investment Fuels Development as Peoria Joins Fastest Major ISP in the Nation

EVANSVILLE, Ind.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Metronet, the nation’s “Fastest Major ISP” for two consecutive years according to PCMag, announced today that it will bring its 100% fiber-optic internet service to Peoria, Ariz. As part of a broader push to expand access to high-speed connectivity across the state, Metronet will invest $58.5 million to build a robust fiber infrastructure in Peoria that delivers internet speeds up to five gigabits per second to homes and up to ten gigabits per second to businesses.

To date, Metronet has committed nearly $160 million to four Arizona communities: Casa Grande, Glendale, Prescott Valley and Peoria. As in other Metronet markets, the cost to construct the fiber-to-the-home network is privately funded, requiring no taxpayer dollars.

Construction is expected to begin in the coming weeks, with the first residents and businesses receiving service this summer. Those interested in construction updates or pre-sale opportunities can visit metronet.com/az/peoria.

“Expanding to Peoria is an exciting next step in our Arizona growth,” said Jill Cordes, vice president of new market development at Metronet. “We’re proud to partner with city leadership to bring future-ready, fiber-optic internet to homes and businesses throughout the community.”

As construction progresses, residents will see Metronet crews in the area installing fiber either underground or along existing utility poles. The company will provide advance notice at least 30 days before construction begins through mailed letters, yard signs, and other neighborhood communications. All Metronet personnel will be clearly identifiable with company-branded vehicles and ID badges.

Additional information on construction can be found at metronet.com/construction, including what to expect, next steps, and answers to frequently asked questions.

Metronet’s 100% fiber-optic network delivers symmetrical upload and download speeds, ensuring a seamless online experience for streaming, remote work, online learning, gaming, video conferencing and more.

Metronet is also hiring for positions across Arizona to support its expansion. Interested candidates can apply at metronet.com/careers. The company plans to announce additional Arizona communities this year. To learn more, visit metronet.com/az.
