Transfix Launches Revised Forecasts, Giving Freight Brokers Real-Time Visibility Into Shifting Carrier Costs and Contract Margins

New feature shows brokers how carrier market rates have moved since a contract was priced to spot at-risk margins early and reprice confidently in a volatile freight market.

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Transfix today announced Revised Forecasts, a new capability in its transportation management system (TMS) that shows freight brokers how carrier market rates have changed since they priced a contract and what that shift means for their margin on every remaining load. Available now to customers with Contract Performance Monitoring, the feature turns a task brokers previously handled in spreadsheets into a one-click view inside the platform where they already manage their rates.

Carrier rates have been moving faster than market expectations, and many brokers have been repricing contracts far more often than in previous years. Historically, the industry has lacked a simple way to surface that movement in real time. Once contract rates were locked, carrier cost changes stayed invisible until they showed up in actual payments, often after margin had already eroded. Teams tracked the gap manually, running their own comparisons outside the platform to decide when to renegotiate with a shipper or adjust their carrier strategy.

Revised Forecasts closes that gap. With a single click, a broker can generate an updated carrier rate forecast for the remaining months of any active or upcoming contract, compare it against the original forecast, and immediately see which lanes have moved enough to matter. The feature works on an individual lane or across many lanes at once, so an account manager can pull a full segment of business, see where margin is trending up or down, and walk into a shipper or carrier conversation with the numbers in hand.

How Revised Forecasts work

  • Updated forecasts on demand. Transfix refreshes its carrier cost model monthly and shows the date it was last updated. Brokers regenerate rates for the remaining contract period using the same pricing rules applied when the contract was first priced, keeping every comparison apples-to-apples.
  • Clear margin signals. A Remaining Forecasted Margin column shows the margin expected across the rest of a contract, with a green up arrow or red down arrow marking lanes where margin has improved or slipped. Only lanes that moved 5% or more are flagged, so the meaningful changes stand out.
  • Bulk selection and filtering. A new Volume Remaining filter lets brokers focus on contracts that still have meaningful loads left to run, select a set of lanes, and recalculate them together with interactive charts that plot the original forecast, the revised forecast, the awarded rate, and what the broker has actually paid.

“Carrier rates aren’t sitting still right now, and neither can our customers. Repricing has gone from an occasional exercise to a constant one, and until now, brokers were tracking those shifts in spreadsheets outside our platform. Revised Forecasts was one of the most requested capabilities we’ve heard from customers, and it delivers insights on margin shifts and specific lane changes right inside the platform where they handle their contracts.”
— Carly Gunby, VP of Revenue, Transfix

Revised Forecasts is the foundation for a broader set of repricing tools on the Transfix roadmap, giving brokers not just a way to spot margin risk but, over time, a way to act on it directly in the platform that covers the full lifecycle of a load.

Revised Forecasts are now available to Transfix Solutions customers with Contract Performance Monitoring.
