Wolfspeed Announces Key Executive Appointments to Strengthen Legal, Government Affairs and Communications Capabilities

DURHAM, N.C.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Wolfspeed, Inc. (NYSE: WOLF), a global leader in silicon carbide technology, today announced two executive appointments that strengthen the company’s leadership team and support its continued growth and engagement with customers, investors, and stakeholders. The appointments come as Wolfspeed accelerates global expansion, deepens engagement with policymakers and advances long-term growth strategy.

Brad Kohn will rejoin Wolfspeed as Executive Vice President, Chief Legal and Global Affairs Officer, effective May 11, 2026. In this role, Kohn will oversee the company’s global legal, compliance, government affairs, and public-policy engagement functions, supporting Wolfspeed’s regulatory alignment and long-term value creation.

Kohn has more than 20 years of experience as a general counsel across multiple public companies, including prior service at Wolfspeed, Martin Marietta Materials and MEMC Electronic Materials (now part of GlobalWafers). His career is marked by leadership in complex strategic transactions, partnerships, and government engagement.

“Wolfspeed is an exceptional company with a powerful role to play in shaping the future of energy-efficient technologies,” said Kohn. “I am excited to return and contribute to the company’s next chapter, working alongside a talented team focused on long-term value creation.”

In addition, Sonja Burfeind has been appointed Vice President, Communications, effective July 1, 2026. Burfeind will lead Wolfspeed’s global communications strategy, unifying internal and external messaging, including public relations and sales and marketing communications.

Burfeind brings more than 20 years of experience building brand reputation across technology, automotive, consumer, and media industries. Most recently, she held senior communications leadership roles at Infineon, where she played a key role in navigating complex positioning stories into a global media and multiplier network and translating advanced semiconductor technologies into clear, compelling narratives that enhanced corporate reputation and visibility.

“Wolfspeed has a compelling story and a critical role in advancing next-generation technologies,” said Burfeind. “I look forward to working with the team to further strengthen the company’s brand and clearly communicate its value to customers, partners, media and the investment community.”

“These appointments reflect our continued investment in leadership that enhances Wolfspeed’s ability to engage effectively with customers, shareholders, and policymakers,” said Robert Feurle, Chief Executive Officer of Wolfspeed. “Brad and Sonja bring deep expertise and proven results that will support our strategy and help amplify Wolfspeed’s influence globally.”
