ITT’s Svanehøj Acquires KOHO, Expanding Portfolio with Compressor Technology for Growing Gas Solutions Market

STAMFORD, Conn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 18, 2025-- ITT Inc. (NYSE: ITT) today announced that its Svanehøj business, a leading designer and manufacturer of specialized cryogenic pumps and aftermarket services for the marine sector, has acquired Köhler & Hörter GmbH (KOHO). KOHO, a small family-owned company based in Hagen, Germany, is an expert in high-quality compressors for a wide range of industries including shipbuilding.

The acquisition significantly expands Svanehøj’s capabilities beyond pumps and into compressors, which are critical components for handling hydrogen, hydrocarbons and other demanding gases. By integrating KOHO’s reciprocating compressor systems into its existing portfolio of cryogenic pump and tank control technology, Svanehøj now offers a wider range of solutions for liquefied gas applications. This positions ITT as a differentiated provider of mission-critical components for the energy transition, enabling customers to manage both liquid and gaseous fuels with a single trusted partner.

“This is a logical expansion for Svanehøj in the gas tanker segment, where we have delivered cargo pump systems and integrated services to LPG and LNG carriers for many years. By acquiring KOHO, we can now include high-quality compressors and related spare parts in offerings to our customers. KOHO adds specialist know-how and an attractive product portfolio. When combined with Svanehøj’s and ITT’s strengths in supply chain and sales, we believe we can unlock new opportunities that will strengthen and expand the company in the future,” said Svanehøj’s Chief Executive Officer Søren Kringelholt.

This acquisition positions ITT to capture further growth from the energy transition and fleet conversion to future fuels, including LNG, ammonia, hydrogen and CO₂, where demand for integrated pump and compressor systems is accelerating. The global marine fleet is undergoing a significant shift toward green fuels, with penetration expected to rise from 8% today to 90% by 2050. Svanehøj’s cryogenic technology is already widely trusted in the marine sector, with more than 14,500 large cargo gas pumps delivered and over 1,000 fuel pumps in operation currently.

Svanehøj and KOHO have previously collaborated on high-profile shipbuilding projects, including the Northern Lights LCO₂ carriers in Norway and Höegh Autoliners’ Aurora class design - the first Pure Car & Truck Carrier (PCTC) classified as “ammonia-ready,” capable of operating on green ammonia in the future.

The acquisition of KOHO is Svanehøj’s second this year, following its January acquisition of European Pump Services B.V., now Svanehøj EPS, which specializes in pump integration and service for industrial, offshore and maritime sectors.
