USAA to Expand Workforce in Chesapeake to Support Growing Membership

Company adding more than 500 employees in the area over the next two years

CHESAPEAKE, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--USAA announced today the purchase of a new, larger office space located at 1341 Crossways Blvd, in the heart of Chesapeake. The strategic move is designed to enhance the company's service capabilities and work environment for its dedicated team, as USAA continues to grow, serve and provide value to its expanding membership.

"We are thrilled to be expanding our presence in Chesapeake," said Randy Termeer, President, USAA Property and Casualty Insurance Group. “With the addition of 1 million new members last year, it is crucial that USAA has the space and facilities to ensure employees can continue to deliver the exceptional service members expect and deserve.”

USAA's presence in Chesapeake is deeply rooted in its strong military connections. With 20 nearby military installations and service headquarters, the company can effectively engage with the military community and attract the 15,000 skilled military personnel who transition to civilian life each year. Through the expansion, USAA expects to add 500 new roles to the Chesapeake office.

The new office, located just a five-minute drive from USAA’s current location, will span nearly 200,000 square feet. It will include modern amenities such as a cafeteria and other dining options, a fitness center and a market. The office will also feature a robust claims technical training center with vehicles on-site for hands-on learning, ensuring employees are well-prepared to serve USAA’s more than 14 million members.

In addition to the new amenities, USAA offers Total Rewards benefits that include competitive pay, health and wellness benefits, parental benefits and retirement matching.

“USAA is honored to be a part of Chesapeake's community and to serve the military families who call this region home,” added Termeer. “Our new facility will allow us to remain a top employer in the Hampton Roads region for dedicated teammates and to consistently deliver exceptional value to our members.”

USAA plans to begin working in the new space in March of 2026. For more information about careers at USAA, visit usaa.com/jobs.
