Chase Travel and Infatuation Reveal Travel & Dining Trends for Summer 2025

The seasonal report includes top travel trends and destinations from Chase Travel, expert dining picks and insights from Infatuation’s “The Spots Of The Summer”, and new survey data revealing how consumers are dining, traveling, and spending in the months ahead.

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--As we approach the summer travel season, Chase is revealing a new lifestyle-focused report offering details into trends and insights for leisure travel and dining, from experts at both leading travel booking platform, Chase Travel, and restaurant discovery platform, The Infatuation.

Overall, Chase Travel booking data shows a 14%1 year-over-year increase in travel bookings this summer and survey data from the report indicates continued interest in consumers’ dining and traveling spend: 73% of respondents say they are more likely to dine out and 38% anticipate spending more than usual on travel in the summer.

Summer Dining & Travel Trends

  • The busiest travel days this summer so far are June 5 and June 19. When looking around the 4th of July holiday, June 27 and July 3 are the busiest days.1
  • Food as a driver for travel: 77% of respondents are interested in planning trips centered around a destination’s food and restaurant options, and 70% would travel 30 minutes or more to another city for a meal.2
  • Italy is a top food and shopping destination, with 55% of respondents eager to travel there for pasta, specifically.   • Increased demand for premium travel: Chase Travel booking data shows a growth in premium travel with a 21% year-over-year increase in premium air bookings over the summer months.1
  • Earlier dinner times are becoming more popular: 51% of Gen-X prefer early evening dinner reservations during the summer (5:00pm-6:30pm); meanwhile 57% of Gen-Z and 52% of Millennials prefer dining between 7:00pm-8:30pm in the summer.2
  • Dessert orders rise with the temperatures: 62% of respondents are more likely to treat themselves to dessert over the summer2 and Infatuation search data shows searches for ice cream spots doubled when looking at the weeks leading up to summer.3
