Black & Veatch opens application process for 2025 IgniteX Innovation Accelerator program

Nationally recognized program empowers startups involved in innovative project execution

OVERLAND PARK, Kan.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--As the demand for reliability, sustainability and resiliency grows, global human critical infrastructure leader Black & Veatch is inviting early-stage companies to apply for the company’s 2025 BV IgniteX innovation accelerator program.

This year’s program will empower infrastructure-focused start-ups with developing technologies to improve efficiency through process innovation and digital disruption, resulting in greater efficiencies and productivity in the industry. The companies selected will tap into the expertise of Black & Veatch professionals, receiving mentorship, access to the company’s industry network, product testing opportunities, pitch development coaching and investor introductions. The program includes funding of up to $35,000 in non-dilutive grants and in-kind services plus potential equity investments.

“In our six years of this program, we have partnered with some incredible companies that are doing transformative work and have watched them advance their mission with the help of seasoned Black & Veatch water, power, process and data center professionals,” said Jason Haney, director of Black & Veatch’s IgniteX Accelerator Program. “The collective drive of everyone involved in BV IgniteX brings early-stage companies one step closer to achieving their vision of sustainable infrastructure.”

More than 700 companies have applied to the BV IgniteX program, and Black & Veatch has provided millions in services and investments to selected companies.

Applications are due by June 8, 2025. After selected participants are announced, the BV IgniteX Sustainable Infrastructure Accelerator Program will run for 12 weeks beginning on July 28 and culminate with an in-person showcase on October 28. The entrepreneurs will present their solutions, outlining their value proposition and market opportunity.
