Alcoa Foundation Announces New President

PITTSBURGH--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Alcoa Foundation today announced that is has named Caroline Rossignol as its new President.

Alcoa Foundation invests in communities around the world where Alcoa Corporation has a presence. The Foundation contributes to programs that protect and preserve the environment while also promoting access to education and skill-building. Total contributions since 2017 exceed $40 million.

Ms. Rossignol will be responsible for overseeing Foundation activities to invest where Alcoa has a presence, partnering with communities to address local needs in a sustainable manner. She will lead the Foundation and serve as Chair of the Alcoa Foundation Board of Directors. She has more than 15 years of experience in the mining sector, most recently serving as Director, Sustainability and Social Performance at Lundin Mining Corporation from 2016 to 2019. Caroline also worked for more than 10 years with wildlife and habitat conservation NGOs.

Caroline brings a wealth of experience and expertise in advancing positive impacts with industry and NGOs. She is joining Alcoa Foundation from IDEXX, a US based animal health diagnostics and medical devices company, where she served as Director of Global Corporate Responsibility and led worldwide philanthropic programs including establishing and leading the IDEXX Foundation.

The role of Foundation president will now become a full-time, dedicated position, as it previously has been under the responsibility of Alcoa’s Vice President of Sustainability, Rosa Garcia Pineiro. Pineiro will continue to serve in her other global duties with Alcoa Corporation.
