Toyoda Gosei to Establish New Plant for Automotive Interior & Exteriors in West-Central India

KIYOSU, Japan--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Toyoda Gosei Co., Ltd. (TOKYO:7282) is establishing a new plant in the Maharashtra Bidkin Industrial Area with the aim of expanding its business in the growing Indian automobile market. The new plant will produce large interior and exterior products, such as bumpers and instrument panels. Operations are scheduled to start in the first half of 2029, with new buildings constructed to meet the increasing production capacity1 of the Japanese automakers who are the company’s main customers.

The new plant will pursue efficient manufacturing with the latest large molding machines, which can automatically change molds and other setup, production management systems that utilize IoT and DX, “smart automated processes” that minimize investment costs by combining collaborative robots and karakuri technology2 and more. It is being built as a branch plant of Toyoda Gosei Group company Toyoda Gosei South India Pvt. Ltd., and will be Toyoda Gosei’s eighth location in India.

In addition to the compact cars that have driven demand to date, SUVs are becoming increasingly popular in India. Toyoda Gosei sees India as a key market, and will continue to establish its development and production network to contribute to safer and more comfortable mobility.
