Dickey’s Barbecue Pit Expands With New Airdrie, Alberta Store

The world’s largest barbecue concept celebrates continued success in Canada with its newest store opening this December at 400 Main Street North

AIRDRIE, Alberta--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dickey’s Barbecue Pit, the world’s largest barbecue brand, is firing up the pit once again in Airdrie, Alberta, as part of its rapidly growing Canadian expansion. The new restaurant, located at 400 Main Street North, Airdrie, AB T4B 2N1, will officially open its doors this month, marking another milestone in Dickey’s international growth and its ongoing mission to share Legit. Texas. Barbecue.™ with the world.

“Opening in Airdrie is a tremendous opportunity,” said franchise owner Jamal Kayani. “We’re excited to bring real Texas barbecue to Alberta, where good food, strong community, and spirited hospitality go hand in hand. Our team is ready to serve the neighbors, families and friends who crave bold flavor and genuine connection.”

The Airdrie opening follows a series of successful Dickey’s locations throughout Canada, reaffirming the brand’s belief that the Canadian market is perfectly suited for its slow-smoked barbecue, family-friendly atmosphere and southern-inspired warmth.

“Canada has proven to be an outstanding market for Dickey’s,” said Roland Dickey Jr., CEO of Dickey’s Capital Group. “With each Canadian opening, we’re not just expanding our footprint, we’re expanding our legacy. Dickey’s resonates here because the values of family, community and great barbecue are truly universal.”

Guests visiting the new Airdrie location can expect everything that’s made Dickey’s an American favorite for over eight decades: smoked brisket, fall-off-the-bone ribs, smoked chicken and a wide array of classic southern sides like mac and cheese, barbecue beans and fried okra. The new restaurant will offer dine-in, takeout, delivery, and catering options, giving guests a taste of Texas wherever they are.

For Laura Rea Dickey, CEO of Dickey’s Barbecue Restaurants, Inc., this opening is about more than great food. “We believe in creating more than great barbecue; we build community spaces where people gather, share and belong,” said Laura. “Airdrie is a natural next step in our Canadian journey, and we couldn’t be prouder to partner with Jamal and the Airdrie team to continue that tradition.”

From its humble beginnings in Dallas in 1941, Dickey’s has grown into an international brand with locations across the United States and around the world. The company’s global expansion strategy has gained momentum in recent years, with Canada emerging as a cornerstone market for future growth.

“The response from our Canadian guests has been incredible,” added Roland Dickey Jr. “They love authentic, handcrafted barbecue and the genuine hospitality that comes with it. That’s what makes openings like Airdrie so meaningful. It’s proof that good barbecue knows no borders.”

The new owner is inviting locals to experience firsthand what makes Dickey’s a household name for barbecue lovers everywhere.

“Bringing this brand to Airdrie feels like welcoming family,” said Jamal Kayani. “It’s more than a restaurant. It’s a place for connection, laughter and Texas-sized hospitality.”
