Gigapower Appoints Francisco Maella as Chief Executive Officer

Experienced telecom operator and network builder to lead Gigapower’s next phase of growth, continuing to scale the company’s commercial open access model

DALLAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Gigapower, the nation’s largest, commercial open-access provider, today announced the appointment of Francisco Maella as Chief Executive Officer effective November 3, 2025. Mr. Maella will succeed Gigapower’s founding CEO, Bill Hogg, who will work closely with Mr. Maella through a planned leadership transition to ensure continuity for employees, customers, and partners.

Francisco Maella is a seasoned executive with 29 years of experience in the telecommunications industry, including 20 years in executive management roles within private equity–backed portfolio companies. He has served as Chief Executive Officer and Chief Technology Officer of Dobson Fiber, as well as Chief Operating Officer of Alpheus Communications. Mr. Maella holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Louisiana and an MBA from the University of Houston.
