The 2025 ISG Provider Lens® AWS Ecosystem Partners report for Mexico finds that the launch of three local AWS availability zones has helped companies accelerate innovation and improve performance while ensuring compliance with Mexican legal and data residency requirements. The development marks a milestone for Mexico’s digital economy as organizations in multiple sectors invest in cloud-native technologies to enhance agility, resilience and cost efficiency.

“AWS’ local expansion will continue the technology transformation under way in Mexico’s enterprises and talent pool,” said Anay Nawathe, ISG cloud delivery lead for the Americas. “It provides strong local infrastructure to scale AI initiatives, strengthen operations and comply with evolving regulations.”

Mexican enterprises are rapidly transitioning from cloud migration to full modernization, the report says. Many organizations are replacing legacy systems with agile, cloud-native architectures using services such as Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS) and DevOps automation. This shift has improved responsiveness to market and regulatory changes while supporting long-term innovation goals.

Generative AI (GenAI) adoption is also expanding across industries as companies integrate AI into daily operations, the report says. Through AWS services, especially Amazon Bedrock and its Titan and Nova foundation models, enterprises are automating processes, optimizing decision-making and enhancing customer experience. Early implementations are already producing measurable gains in productivity and efficiency, while organizations are continuing to refine GenAI implementations to achieve sustainable value.

The financial sector, including major banks and fintechs, has been among the first to benefit from local AWS capabilities, the report says. Access to secure, high-performance cloud infrastructure allows these institutions to improve operational reliability, ensure data sovereignty and strengthen compliance with Mexico’s financial regulations. The new AWS region has also encouraged investment in innovation-focused projects aimed at expanding digital financial services.

Adoption of multicloud strategies is growing in Mexico as companies seek more scalability and flexibility, ISG says. Large enterprises are combining AWS with other public clouds to expand their bargaining power and secure more competitive prices. This trend is fueling demand for specialized managed services to help organizations deal with multiple standards, interfaces, APIs and security models. Many midsize enterprises still opt for a single cloud to avoid the complexity and costs of multicloud environments.

“Enterprises in Mexico are building a modern, intelligent foundation for the future,” said Adriana Frantz, lead author of the report. “The combination of GenAI and cloud-native modernization is reshaping industries, creating new opportunities and redefining operational efficiency.”

The report also explores other trends influencing the Mexican market, including growing adoption of multicloud strategies and FinOps practices for cost optimization, as well as rising enterprise focus on Zero Trust security frameworks to protect expanding cloud environments.
