Zinnia Announces Major Cloud Migration Milestone to Support Processing of Over 55% of Digital Annuity Sales in U.S.

GREENWICH, Conn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Zinnia, a leading life and annuity (L&A) insurance technology company, today announced a significant technology milestone: the migration of Zinnia’s core order entry solution, AnnuityNet, to Amazon Web Services (AWS). Zinnia processes over 55% of annuities submitted by the bank and broker-dealer community in the U.S., now running on AWS infrastructure.

This move marks an important step forward in modernizing the technology infrastructure for annuity distribution. Zinnia clients can expect greater performance, resilience, and scalability across the ecosystem. These benefits come at a time when the market demand for speed, efficiency, and collaboration has never been higher.

“At Zinnia, innovation drives how we deliver solutions that make annuities more accessible," said Hilani Kerr, Head of Wealth and Distribution Platforms at Zinnia. "Our migration to AWS is the latest moment in our continual journey to enable faster time to market and more scalable growth, further simplifying the annuity buying experience for all stakeholders.”

These foundational changes further position Zinnia to support the next generation of retirement and protection products. Eight of the top 10 banks and 18 of the top 20 annuity producers in the U.S. are using the Zinnia platform. Zinnia’s AWS implementation addresses industry needs that include more unified environments, scalable infrastructure for peak processing periods, and event-driven architecture for real-time integrations.

Zinnia is leveraging AWS’s Migration Acceleration Program (MAP) to support large-scale cloud migrations, including its data warehouse and commission and document management systems. These steps are part of a comprehensive strategy to modernize infrastructure and improve outcomes across the value chain.

“Insurance tech businesses like Zinnia are at the forefront of digital transformation,” said Scott Mullins, Director of Worldwide Financial Services Business Development at AWS. “By leveraging AWS’s comprehensive suite of cloud services, Zinnia has been able to modernize systems and enhance customer experiences that are reshaping the insurance landscape. We're proud to support Zinnia's innovation journey and look forward to seeing how they continue to transform the life and annuity marketplace.”

As Zinnia deepens its platform investments, all deployments will be cloud-native, delivering scalable infrastructure that empowers every stakeholder in the L&A industry.
