Swisslog Healthcare Launches i-Rolly for AutoPack Automated Oral Solid Packager

New add-on enhances medication organization and storage efficiency

BROOMFIELD, Colo.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Swisslog Healthcare, a leader in pharmacy and transport automation solutions, introduces the i-Rolly, a new add-on feature for the AutoPack™ Automated Oral Solid Packager. This addition improves medication organization and storage in hospital pharmacies, contributing to more efficient workflows.

AutoPack, an automated oral solid packager, supports up to 480 medications in a single packager. The i-Rolly is an automatic pouch rolling system that complements the AutoPack. It enables both manual and automatic winding of finished pouch strings, processing up to 80 packs per minute. The system's detachable bobbin, available in 400mm and 500mm sizes, facilitates efficient storage and organization by patient or medicine type.

"The i-Rolly significantly enhances our AutoPack system's capabilities," said Connie Vigil, Business Analyst at Swisslog Healthcare. "It streamlines the final stages of medication packaging, allowing hospital pharmacies to manage their inventory more effectively and respond to patient needs more quickly."

The i-Rolly's compact design integrates seamlessly with existing AutoPack setups, requiring minimal additional space. Its user-friendly interface allows operators to easily control winding speed and tension, ensuring optimal storage conditions for packaged medications. By automating the pouch rolling process, the i-Rolly reduces the risk of human error in medication organization and storage.

The AutoPack, enhanced by the i-Rolly, addresses key challenges faced by hospital pharmacies. Its design allows for easy replacement of the main frame packaging unit, reducing downtime and boosting productivity. The system includes a standard Special Tablet System (STS) Tray and AutoCanisters™, which handle half tablets, infrequently used tablets, and tablets with special shapes.

The i-Rolly is now available for hospitals across North America. More information can be found at https://www.swisslog-healthcare.com/en-us/products/pharmacy-automation/autopack-automated-oral-solid-packager.
