ComPsych Data Shows Skyrocketing Demand for Manager Trainings on Mental Health and Well-Being Topics

Responding to Increased Appetite for Management Education, ComPsych Launches Empowered Leadership Coaching Experience

CHICAGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--ComPsych® Corporation, the world’s largest provider of mental health and absence management services, today announced a dramatic increase in interest for management training on employee mental health and well-being. According to its book of business – which serves more than 78,000 organizations globally and 40% of the Fortune 500 – from 2022 to 2024 there was a 42% increase in requests for manager-specific learning events about mental health and well-being. Additionally, attendance for these types of events increased by 21% during this same period, and “Mental Health Awareness for Leaders” became ComPsych’s most popular management training title among a list of more than 200 trainings for employees of all levels available to client organizations.

“Increasingly, companies are realizing that training their leaders on how to address employee mental health and well-being is crucial to their overall investment in employee wellness,” said Paul Posey, CEO of ComPsych. “Helping companies to develop their managers into empathetic, emotionally intelligent leaders that can guide teams amidst the volatile environment we’re currently operating in is critical to fostering a thriving corporate culture that drives business results and growth.”

“It’s heartening to see so many managers now embracing their own role in workplace wellbeing and mental health,” said Ken Zuckerberg, Vice President of Learning and Organizational Excellence at ComPsych. “It used to be that managers would say, ‘That’s not my job. That’s HR.’ I’m thrilled that our learning programs are equipping leaders with the skills and confidence to navigate tough conversations, resulting in workplace cultures where well-being is not an afterthought, but a fundamental driver of success.”

To address the burgeoning appetite for management education, ComPsych has launched the Empowered Leadership Coaching Experience, a four-part program including one-on-one coaching to help managers build confidence, grow skills and navigate workplace challenges based on their personal growth areas as well as individual and organizational goals. Addressing employee mental health and well-being as well as a wide variety of other topics, the Empowered Leadership Coaching Experience is led by ComPsych leadership facilitators with expertise in organizational psychology, educational leadership, and workforce development. Since piloting the experience earlier this month, ComPsych has seen tremendous interest with more than 100 leaders participating in its inaugural deployment and dozens of organizations planning to implement it later this year.

“The Empowered Leadership Coaching Experience provided an expert outside of our organization with no bias who helped me gain clarity around what I was struggling with,” said Michaela Doss, Manager, Pharmacy Quality & Safety at OSF HealthCare. “I am thankful for the growth as a leader and appreciated that my ComPsych facilitator did not provide answers for me, but rather challenged my thinking to better solve the issues on my own with her thoughtful guidance. I’d recommend this experience to anyone looking to grow as a leader.”
