Dr. Mita Manna Appointed Chair of REAL Canadian Breast Cancer Alliance, Advancing Research and Care for Breast Cancer Patients Nationwide

Saskatchewan Cancer Centre’s Dr. Mita Manna to Lead National Alliance, Drive Research and Advocate for Equitable Access to Innovative Treatments

TORONTO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--REAL Canadian Breast Cancer Alliance is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Mita Manna as the new Chair of the organization. Dr. Manna, a highly respected Hematologist and Medical Oncologist at the Saskatchewan Cancer Centre and soon-to-be Associate Professor at the University of Saskatchewan’s Department of Oncology (effective April 2025), brings a wealth of experience in breast cancer research, patient advocacy, and clinical leadership to this pivotal role.

Founded in 2023, REAL (Research Excellence and Active Leadership) Canadian Breast Cancer Alliance unites leading clinicians across Canada in a shared mission to advance breast cancer care through evidence-based research and to promote equity in access to cutting-edge treatments.

REAL Canadian Breast Cancer Alliance plays a key role in shaping national care standards, releasing annual clinical consensus recommendations that reflect the latest research outcomes and clinical trial data. These recommendations ensure comprehensive, evidence-based management for breast cancer patients.

The following national consensus recommendations are set to be completed and released later this year:

  • Treatment Management of HR+ Early Stage Breast Cancer
  • Treatment Management of HR+ Metastatic Breast Cancer
  • Treatment Management of Triple Negative Breast Cancer
  • Treatment Management Using Molecular Diagnostics and Markers
