John Muir Land Trust Celebrates 35 Years of Protecting East Bay Lands With Supporters and Partners at John Muir National Historic Site

MARTINEZ, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--On Saturday, October 5, John Muir Land Trust (JMLT, jmlt.org) supporters and partners gathered at the John Muir National Historic Site for Fresh Aire Affaire, celebrating JMLT’s 35 years of permanently protecting the places that make the East Bay special. More than 300 JMLT supporters enjoyed the company of new and old friends at the event.

The evening was made special with live music by the Peter Horvath Group and guests were graced with special video messages from United States Representative Mark DeSaulnier, and Bay Area television legend Doug McConnell. McConnell shared his own passion for open spaces and John Muir Land Trust’s legacy of conservation in the East Bay region.

JMLT Executive Director Linus Eukel shared his gratitude for the special community that gathered with such generosity of spirit. “We are blessed to have so many friends and supporters who help create the collective uplift that comes from protecting thousands of acres - ridgelines and shorelines - in our region. And we look forward to the next 35 years of permanently protecting and restoring our shared land, creating natural solutions to address a changing climate, and creating accessible outdoor spaces for all in an increasingly dense population center.”

JMLT thanks the National Park Service for their partnership hosting this very special evening. Fresh Aire Affaire was generously sponsored by several individuals and partners, including presenting sponsors Jerry Weintraub and Melody Howe Weintraub, as well as lead sponsors Ambar Estate, International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 302, Marathon Petroleum Corporation, Martinez Refining Company, Morrison Foerster, Phillips 66, and several other friends and community partners.
