Boxlight Launches FrontRow Live Beta — Hardware-Free Real-Time Captions and Translation for Every Classroom

DULUTH, Ga.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Boxlight Corporation (Nasdaq: BOXL)—recognized as one of the top ed-tech companies in the world for innovative solutions that enhance communication and collaboration in educational institutions and businesses—has opened the FrontRow Live beta program, giving schools access to a new web-based platform that delivers real-time classroom transcription and translation — all without additional hardware or installation.

New web-based tool delivers instant captions and translations to make every classroom more inclusive — transforming accessibility without extra hardware.

Designed to make instruction accessible for every student, FrontRow Live instantly converts spoken teacher audio into on-screen captions and translations on any connected device. It supports multilingual learners, students who are deaf or hard of hearing (DHH), and those with auditory processing or attention challenges, helping districts achieve their goals for equity and inclusion.

“FrontRow by Boxlight has always been about overcoming barriers between the teacher’s voice and the student’s ability to receive instruction,” said Demetrius Handelih, Director of Marketing at Boxlight. “FrontRow Live continues that ethos—designed for simplicity, built for the classroom, and delivering meaningful accessibility without adding burdensome cost or complexity.”

Accessibility Without the Hardware Headache

Unlike other classroom captioning or translation tools that rely on expensive hardware, FrontRow Live is fully web-based and device-agnostic. It integrates seamlessly with Boxlight’s MyClass learning platform, FrontRow by Boxlight audio systems such as Juno, UNITY, and ezRoom, as well as Clevertouch by Boxlight interactive displays—including the Pro Series, Max 2, and IMPACT Lux 2. FrontRow Live also works effortlessly with non-Boxlight classroom technologies already in place, making it one of the most flexible accessibility solutions available.

“Our goal with FrontRow Live was to make real-time accessibility effortless to deploy and use,” said Ian Robinson, the FrontRow Live product lead at Boxlight. “It works seamlessly across devices and platforms, giving schools an immediate way to support diverse learners without disrupting their classroom setup.”

Key Capabilities

  • Real-time captioning and translation — converts speech into text and up to 10 simultaneous languages
  • Supports 32 languages for the speaker and 128 languages for captioning
  • Device flexibility — works on Chromebooks, panels, laptops, tablets, or Boxlight solutions
  • FERPA-compliant security — student-controlled privacy and access
  • Seamless integration — operates independently or with Boxlight technologies
  • Fast deployment — district-wide rollout in days, not months

Funding Eligibility

Districts can leverage Title III, IDEA Part B, and ESSER funds to implement FrontRow Live as part of accessibility, language learning, and digital equity initiatives. Boxlight also offers a free Grant Assistance Program to support districts seeking support in securing state or federal funding.
