Latino Community Foundation Welcomes Four National Leaders to Board of Trustees

Administrator Isabel Casillas Guzman, Director Robert Santos, Ana Valdez, and Stephanie Valencia join LCF’s Board, bringing expertise in philanthropy, economic development, governance, and national leadership

SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The Latino Community Foundation (LCF) announced today the appointment of four visionary leaders to its Board of Directors, strengthening the organization’s ability to advance civic and economic power for Latino communities across the nation.

Joining the LCF Board are:

  • Administrator Isabel Casillas Guzman, former Administrator of the U.S. Small Business Administration, the highest-ranking Latina in the Biden-Harris Administration, and a national leader in economic development and entrepreneurship.
  • Director Robert Santos, former Director of the U.S. Census Bureau and the first Latino to hold the position in the agency’s history.
  • Ana Valdez, CEO of the Latino Donor Collaborative, a leading voice in reshaping the Latino narrative through research and philanthropy.
  • Stephanie Valencia, Co-Founder and President of Equis, a pioneering organization dedicated to building Latino political power.

These appointments reflect the caliber of leadership that Latinos bring to every sector in the U.S. spanning public service, philanthropy, civic, and business development. These new appointments will help LCF expand its impact at a time when Latinos are the nation’s second-largest racial or ethnic group and an essential force in shaping the country’s future.

“We are honored to welcome Ana, Stephanie, Administrator Guzman, and Director Santos to the Latino Community Foundation Board,” said Julián Castro, CEO of the Latino Community Foundation. “Each of them brings an extraordinary track record of leadership and a deep commitment to uplifting Latino communities. Their vision and expertise will help us scale our impact at a moment when Latinos are key to the nation’s economic, civic, and cultural future. Together, we will continue building a country in which Latino families have the opportunity and power to thrive.”

“Our democracy is at its best when it empowers all of us to pursue the American dream,” said Isabel Guzman. “With each passing year, the Latino community becomes increasingly essential to our shared destiny as a nation, powering economic opportunity and innovation across the country. Yet Latinos still face barriers that prevent us from reaching our full potential. I am honored to join the Latino Community Foundation Board to move our community forward, imagining and building stronger pathways for Latinos to grow wealth, influence policy, and shape a more prosperous future for our nation.”

"It is an honor to join the Latino Community Foundation Board of Directors and devote my time and energy to help improve Latino communities in California as well as those throughout our nation,” said Robert Santos. “I look forward to working with my fellow board members, the LCF staff, and with community members to find effective solutions to the many challenges facing our beautifully diverse Latino population in these troubling times."

“It is an honor to join the Board of the Latino Community Foundation, a national organization that aligns the power of philanthropy with civic engagement and continuously shows that when Latinos lead, communities thrive,” said Ana Valdez.

"It’s an honor to join the Latino Community Foundation’s Board of Trustees,” said Stephanie Valencia. “At a time when Latinos are driving the growth, culture, and future of this country, LCF is building an equitable and prosperous path for our communities. I look forward to working alongside a powerhouse of talented and diverse leaders to build LCF’s legacy and future."

With this new cohort, LCF’s Board of Trustees strengthens its legacy of Latino leadership, upholding the organization’s reputation in California and beyond.
