Datavant Launches HealthForms to Simplify FMLA and Disability Paperwork for Patients and Providers

New platform streamlines form completion, reducing administrative burden and enabling clinical teams to focus on patient care

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Datavant, the data collaboration platform trusted for healthcare, today announced the launch of HealthForms, a digital solution that simplifies the completion process for forms requiring provider signature, including Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), disability and other patient-requested forms. HealthForms creates a better experience for both patients and providers by enabling providers to offload time-consuming administrative tasks with a seamless, secure digital workflow, so clinical staff can focus on patient care.

"Providers should not have to divert their clinical teams from patient care to handle tedious paperwork. HealthForms reduces that burden by radically simplifying this process," said Stephen Mallinak, GM & President of the Provider division at Datavant.

For providers, completing FMLA, disability and other forms is a time-consuming and manual process, requiring staff to navigate a maze of documents, coordination with third parties, and varied deadlines. These tasks often go unreimbursed, diverting several hours each week from direct patient care.

“Providers should not have to divert their clinical teams from patient care to handle tedious paperwork,” said Stephen Mallinak, GM & President of the Provider division at Datavant. “HealthForms reduces that burden by radically simplifying this process. By delivering a digital-first, secure, and patient-friendly solution, we’re helping providers improve operational efficiency and patient satisfaction at the same time,” added Mallinak.

Datavant designed HealthForms with providers’ needs in mind to support a compliant and secure process that also ensures a great experience for patients. Once a patient submits a digital form request, Datavant supports form completion, compliantly, and facilitates the secure delivery of the form to the patient and provider. This workflow eliminates the need for staff to manage data collection, payment, or follow-up, and is expected to reduce turnaround times by approximately 50%. Clinical teams are only responsible for reviewing and signing forms, thereby eliminating the need to print, fax, and follow-up to coordinate delivery.

HealthForms leverages the same proprietary technology behind Datavant’s patient request tool, which has achieved 95% patient satisfaction, to bring anywhere, anytime access to forms. HealthForms is available nationwide and supports a wide range of patient-requested forms types, including FMLA and disability requests.
