Black Hat USA 2025 Announces Successful Close to Cybersecurity Event in Las Vegas
SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Black Hat, the cybersecurity industry’s most established and in-depth security event series, today announced the successful completion of the in-person component of Black Hat USA 2025. The event welcomed 20,000 verified attendees joining in-person at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas.
Security professionals from around the world registered to attend the event and experience firsthand the latest in research, development, and trends in cybersecurity through more than 100 Briefings covering everything from artificial intelligence (AI), reverse engineering, exploit development and vulnerability discovery, and more. The program also included four days of deeply technical hands-on Trainings, over 120 Sponsored Sessions, and over 115 in-person tool demos spanning exploitation and ethical hacking, cloud security, incident response, and more.

Keynotes: This year’s event featured an expanded Keynote lineup, including five presentations. The opening Keynotes were presented by Mikko Hypponen, Chief Research Officer at WithSecure; and Nicole Perlroth, Founding Partner at Silver Buckshot Ventures. Additional Keynote programming featured presentations by Ron Deibert, Director at The Citizen Lab and Professor of Political Science at the University of Toronto; Jennifer Granick, Surveillance and Cybersecurity Counsel at the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU); and Chris Inglis, Former U.S. National Cyber Director.

Main Stage: As an extension of the featured Keynote programming, Main Stage presentations returned for 2025. Speakers on August 6 included Richard Seiersen, Chief Risk Technology Officer at Qualys; followed by Snehal Antani, CEO & Co-Founder of Horizon3.ai; and Bailey Bickley, Chief of Defense Industrial Base (DIB) Defense at the NSA Cybersecurity Collaboration Center. Summits: On Tuesday, August 5, the event featured a full day of Summit content, including the inaugural Financial Services Summit, the second annual The AI Summit, the second annual Innovators & Investors Summit, the 11th annual CISO Summit, and the fifth annual Omdia Analyst Summit. In addition to the Summit programming, Micro Summits took place on August 6 and August 7, featuring the Cyber Insurance Micro Summit, the Industrial Control Systems (ICS) Micro Summit, and the Supply Chain Micro Summit.

Startup Spotlight Competition: The Black Hat Startup Spotlight Competition is a pitch contest for cybersecurity startup companies to present their products and solutions in front of a live audience at Black Hat. The finalists included FireTail, Keep Aware, Prime Security, and Twine Security. At the close of the competition, Prime Security was announced as the winner.
- Following the close of the competition, Black Hat announced the upcoming Global Startup Spotlight Competition, which is scheduled to take place on the final day of Black Hat USA 2026. More details will be released over the following months.
