7AI Recognized as a Sample Vendor in Gartner® Hype Cycle™ for Security Operations, 2025
BOSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--7AI, the leader in agentic security, today announced its inclusion as a Sample Vendor in the Gartner Hype Cycle for Security Operations, 2025 in the AI SOC Agents category.1
"It's easy for vendors to claim they're using AI agents, but it's another thing entirely to prove it by delivering measurable value to enterprise customers at scale."

In our view, this recognition comes as new Gartner research reveals, “Many vendors are contributing to the hype by engaging in ‘agent washing’ – the rebranding of existing products, such as AI assistants, robotic process automation (RPA) and chatbots, without substantial agentic capabilities. Gartner estimates only about 130 of the thousands of agentic AI vendors are real.”
"We completely agree with Gartner's assessment. It's easy for vendors to claim they're using AI agents, but it's another thing entirely to prove it by delivering measurable value to enterprise customers at scale," said Lior Div, CEO and Co-Founder of 7AI. "We don't approach the market as yet another vendor with cool technology looking for a problem. Instead, we start by deeply understanding the pain points security teams face daily, and then we provide a service that happens to be executed by AI agents."
According to a recent Gartner Press Release, “Over 40% of agentic AI projects will be canceled by the end of 2027, due to escalating costs, unclear business value or inadequate risk controls.”2 However, the security operations domain presents unique characteristics that make it well-suited for authentic AI agent deployment.
Market Reality vs. Marketing Hype
As per Gartner, "Most agentic AI propositions lack significant value or return on investment, as current models don't have the maturity and agency to autonomously achieve complex business goals or follow nuanced instructions over time," stated Gartner Senior Director Analyst Anushree Verma in the Gartner Press Release.
Despite these broader market challenges, Gartner positioned AI SOC Agents at the "Peak of Inflated Expectations" in their security operations hype cycle, with a moderate benefit rating and 1-5% current market penetration.
Security Operations: A Structured Environment for AI Success
The security operations domain offers several advantages for AI agent deployment that distinguish it from general business applications:
- Measurable outcomes including mean time to detection (MTTD) and response (MTTR)
- Structured data sources and standardized processes
- Clear return on investment metrics in an industry facing a critical skills shortage
Dynamic Reasoning: The Key to Authentic AI Agents
"The reason there are so few truly agentic companies in an ocean of claims is that most vendors built traditional rule-based systems and are now retrofitting them with AI labels," said Yonatan Striem-Amit, CTO and Co-Founder of 7AI. "We took the opposite approach – 7AI was designed from the ground up as a truly agentic solution, even before the term 'AI agents' became popular. Our Dynamic Reasoning capability allows our agents to adapt their decision-making process based on contextual understanding of each unique security scenario, rather than following predetermined scripts. This is why our AI agents are a perfect fit for the SOC environment, where every incident requires nuanced analysis and response."
Industry Growth Projections
According to the 2025 Gartner Cybersecurity Innovations in AI Risk Management and Use Survey, “42% of cybersecurity leaders report their organizations are piloting or currently using AI assistants for threat detection and response, with another 46% planning to enable the technology within the next year.” We believe the firm projects that AI systems will handle at least 15 percent of day-to-day decision-making by 2028, up from virtually zero in 2024.

About 7AI
7AI is the leader in agentic security, delivering the industry's first agentic security platform that harnesses the speed, swarming capabilities, and power of AI to give defenders the advantage over evolving threats. Founded in 2024 by cybersecurity veterans Lior Div and Yonatan Striem-Amit, creators of Cybereason, 7AI's platform deploys specialized AI agents that autonomously handle essential "non-human work" such as alert triage, threat investigation, and incident response. The company's Dynamic Reasoning technology enables AI agents to adapt their decision-making process based on contextual understanding of each unique security scenario, eliminating false positives and providing actionable conclusions at machine speed. Backed by Greylock Partners, Spark Capital, and CRV, 7AI is already running in production across dozens of enterprise environments.
Since launch in February 2025, the platform has processed over 360,000 customer alerts and completed more than 128,000 investigations, saving security teams over 64,000 analyst hours—equivalent to 40.3 analyst years of work and $7.2-8.3 million in reclaimed productivity.
Headquartered in Boston, 7AI empowers security teams to focus on high-value strategic work while AI agents handle repetitive tasks, delivering exponentially better security outcomes. For more information, visit www.7ai.com.
