Reinforced Earth Company Ltd. Announces Upcoming Name Change to Geoquest Canada Ltd.

TORONTO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Reinforced Earth Company Ltd. (RECo), a leading civil engineering firm with over five decades of expertise in reinforced backfill applications and soil-structure interaction, today announced that it will officially adopt a new name: Geoquest Canada Ltd. This rebrand marks an important milestone in the company’s expansion into new geotechnical and structural solutions and will take effect in April 2025.

Having first opened its doors in Canada in 1970, RECo was the world’s first commercially registered Reinforced Earth company outside of France. Over the years, it has become synonymous with Mechanically Stabilized Earth (MSE) solutions, a proven technology used in major projects across Canada from Vancouver Island to Newfoundland.

“With our portfolio now extending beyond Reinforced Earth® MSE retaining walls, we recognized the need for a name that reflects the full scope of our capabilities. By becoming Geoquest Canada, we are reinforcing our commitment to delivering a wider range of engineered solutions including erosion control systems, protective structures such as rockfall, and avalanche protection, geosynthetic solutions like steep slopes and basal reinforcement, and new services like engineering support services,” said Daniel Calatrava, P.Eng., President & CEO, at Reinforced Earth Company Ltd. – Canada.

Under the new Geoquest Canada name, the company will continue to deliver the same trusted products and services, while expanding its portfolio to include a more diverse range of soil-structure, geosynthetic, and protective infrastructure solutions. The rebrand will also see the introduction of new engineering support services, further underscoring the company’s focus on improvement and adaptability.

What Does This Mean for Our Clients and Partners?

  • No ownership or management changes: The same team will continue to provide the high level of service our partners have come to expect.
  • Expanded offerings: Beyond our proven Reinforced Earth® solutions, we are adding geosynthetics, protective systems, and more.
  • Continued reliability: Our dedication to quality and excellent customer service remains stronger than ever.

The rebrand will be fully implemented in April 2025, with a new corporate identity and website. Until then, RECo will continue operating under the Reinforced Earth name, ensuring a seamless transition for all existing clients and partners.
