Companies Across Ohio Invited to Participate in Kindland’s Corporate Challenge
-- Competition Running through April Will Determine Kindest Companies in Ohio --
CLEVELAND--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Values-in-Action Foundation through its Kindland initiative, in partnership with the Ohio Chamber of Commerce and Case Western Reserve Weatherhead School of Management, has created the Corporate Challenge for Kindness.
A statewide challenge to all Ohio companies to participate was issued by former Ohio Lt. Governor, and now US Senator, Jon Husted, and Tony Manna, Chairman of M7 Holdings as well as Founder of both Signet and the law firm Brennan, Manna and Diamond. Senator Husted and Mr. Manna are Co-Chairs of the Kindland Corporate Challenge for Kindness.
“Kindness increases belonging, productivity, and prosocial behavior in the workplace and society in general. It improves overall health and decreases anxiety and depression. Kindness is a unifying force that helps build culture which assists in both recruitment and retention within the workplace,” said Husted.
Stuart Muszynski, President and CEO of the Values-in-Action Foundation urges businesses to register their company as a participant at www.BeKindland.com, and encourages employees to log acts of kindness through the Just Be Kind app.
“The challenge for companies is to encourage their associates to recognize and share the many acts of kindness that occur in the workplace between co-workers, customers, clients, colleagues, and their surrounding communities,” commented Muszynski.
Setting up a company to participate works best if a point person is designated to register and spread the word about the challenge among employees. A Kindland representative will contact the company point person with a unique company ID which must be entered by employees when they register on the free Just Be Kind App, available on Android and Apple App stores. Acts of kindness can be posted from inside or outside of the workplace, and they can acts of kindness experienced firsthand, witnessed, or read or seen about in the news or social media.
Participating companies will be divided by the number of employees: Small (2-250), Mid-sized (251-999), and Large ( 1,000+). A coveted Kindness Cup will be awarded to the company recording the most acts of kindness in each category.
