Veriheal Awards Another $30,000 in Scholarships for Cannabis Innovation

DENVER--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Veriheal, the leading cannabis health-tech company, announced the three winners of its annual Innovation in Cannabis Scholarship for 2023, each of whom will receive $10,000 to put toward college tuition and fees

With a record-breaking 800+ submissions, Veriheal demonstrates further commitment to supporting the education and innovation of aspiring leaders and innovators in the cannabis community. Since 2020, Veriheal has awarded $85,000 in scholarships to students seeking to change the evolving cannabis industry.

Veriheal acknowledges the escalating costs of higher education and, in response, has expanded its commitment to offer financial assistance to students passionate about cannabis. In 2023, the company is awarding a total of $30,000 in scholarships, with each of the three winners receiving $10,000 to aid in their educational pursuits.

After carefully reviewing the submissions, which closed on July 30, Veriheal selected the following recipients:

  1. Quemarr Moatamedi - University of Montana
  2. Maya Woods-Arthur - Harvard University
  3. Jensyn Huynh - Texas A&M University

Applicants were tasked with submitting a forward-thinking essay, a minimum of 1000 words, on how to enhance the cannabis industry, demonstrating creativity, sustainability, and a vision for the future. This year's winners stood out for their exceptional combination of knowledge and passion for sustainability, community, awareness, and innovation within the cannabis space.

“The high number of submissions and the exceptional quality of ideas this year speaks volumes about the passion and vision of the next generation of cannabis leaders,” said Joshua Green, co-founder of Veriheal. “We're thrilled to support and empower the minds and futures of those who will undoubtedly shape the industry.”

Next year's Innovation in Cannabis Scholarship will open for submissions in Spring 2024. U.S. college students and high school seniors who are interested in the world of cannabis are strongly encouraged to apply.
