“Ivy Fertility is proud to provide the world’s most compassionate fertility care, and that commitment is supported by our investment in industry-leading science,” said Ivy Fertility CEO Lisa Van Dolah. “By continually striving toward better outcomes, we can make fertility care a more successful and positive journey for our patients.”
The following abstracts presented by Ivy Fertility physicians and affiliated researchers highlight significant findings that contribute to the field of reproductive medicine.
Pregnancy Outcomes According to Timing of Expansion and Vitrification Among 967 Transfers of Single Cryopreserved Non-Biopsied Blastocyst Stage In Vitro Fertilized (IVF) Embryos
Presenter: Valerie Flores MD, San Diego Fertility Center
Authors: Valerie Flores MD, Said Daneshmand MD, Kevin Richter, and Shannon Kokjohn (all of SDFC)
This study evaluated the viability of cryopreserved blastocysts that did not undergo preimplantation genetic testing, focusing on the timing of blastocyst expansion and vitrification. The research concluded that blastocysts expanding and vitrified by Day 5 post-oocyte retrieval had significantly higher success rates compared to those developing later.
Post-Hatching Versus Pre-Hatching Blastocyst Biopsy for Preimplantation Genetic Testing (PGT) Is Unexpectedly Associated with Reduced Implantation
Presenter: Said Daneshmand MD, San Diego Fertility Center
Authors: Said Daneshmand MD, Valerie Flores MD, Kevin Richter, and Shannon Kokjohn (all of SDFC)
This research analyzed the impact of blastocyst developmental stage at the time of biopsy on implantation success. Findings indicated that biopsies performed after spontaneous hatching may reduce embryo viability and implantation potential, suggesting a preference for pre-hatching biopsies in clinical practice.
In Vitro Fertilization Outcomes in Physicians Versus Non-Physicians
Presenter: Jasmine Eliwa MD, Resident, University of Tennessee Health Sciences Center
Authors: Jasmine Eliwa MD, Patricia Goedecke MS, Jim Wan PhD, Rachel Susan Weinerman MD, Joseph Findley MD, Kathryn Coyne MD, Archana Ayyar MD, Evelina Manvelyan MD, Sung Tae Kim PhD HCLD, Rebecca Flyckt MD
Presented and co-authored by Dr. Jasmine Eliwa, a resident from Fertility Associates of Memphis's partnership with the University of Tennessee Health Sciences Center, this study compared IVF outcomes between female physicians and non-physicians. Despite physicians undergoing IVF at a later age, results showed similar outcomes and anti-Müllerian hormone (AMH) levels across both groups, suggesting that professional demands may not adversely affect fertility treatment success.
GnRH Agonist Only Triggers Are as Effective as Dual Triggers in the Progestin Suppressed IVF Protocol
Presenter: Lauren Gilgannon MD, Resident, University of Virginia School of Medicine
Authors: Lauren Gilgannon MD, Patrick Loughran MD (UVA), Laura Smith MD, Christopher Williams MD, Linnea Goodman MD (All of Virginia Fertility & IVF)
This research evaluated the efficacy of gonadotropin-releasing hormone agonist (GnRH-a) only triggers versus dual triggers in progestin-suppressed IVF protocols. The study concluded that GnRH-a only triggers are as effective as dual triggers, providing a safer alternative by reducing the risk of ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS).
Post Trigger Labs Can Be Interpreted Similarly in Oral Progestin Suppressed IVF Protocol
Presenter: Patrick Loughran MD
Authors: Lauren Gilgannon MD (UVA), Diana Zhou MD (Pacific Northwest Fertility), Linnea Goodman MD (VAIVF)
This study examined the interpretation of post-trigger luteinizing hormone (LH) and progesterone levels in oral progestin-suppressed IVF protocols compared to GnRH antagonist protocols. Findings suggest that despite variations in hormone levels, both protocols yield similarly adequate values, supporting the broader implementation of oral progestin protocols in clinical practice.
These research contributions underscore Ivy Fertility’s dedication to advancing reproductive medicine through scientific discovery and clinical excellence.
“With advancements in embryo selection, genetic testing, and individualized treatment protocols, we’re in an incredibly exciting era for fertility care,” said Dr. Flores. “The collaboration and innovation happening right now are driving meaningful improvements in patient outcomes, and it’s an honor for Ivy physicians to contribute to that progress.”
By continuously refining fertility treatments and deepening the understanding of human reproduction, Ivy Fertility empowers patients with the most effective, evidence-based care. The insights shared at PCRS 2025 reflect the organization’s unwavering commitment to improving outcomes and making parenthood possible for more individuals and families worldwide.
