California State Board of Education Adopts Carnegie Learning’s K-8 Math Curriculum

PITTSBURGH--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Carnegie Learning, a global leader in AI-driven technology, curriculum, and professional learning solutions for K-12 education, announced today that the California State Board of Education has adopted Carnegie Learning’s California ClearMath K-8 math solutions for the 2025 Mathematics Instructional Materials Adoption.

Built around real-world connections and collaborative problem solving, California ClearMath was developed with California teachers and is fully aligned with the California Mathematics Framework.

With California ClearMath’s elementary solution, students develop deep understanding and math confidence through hands-on lessons, purposeful routines, centers, collaborative discussions, and game-based learning with MATHia® Adventure. Along the way, they build productive habits of mind and a persistent approach to problem solving that helps them focus on the journey, not just the solution.

Every lesson in California ClearMath’s secondary solution combines intentional structure and flexible access, supporting multilingual learners, honoring student voice, and creating space for productive struggle. From MATHia, the company’s AI-driven coaching software that personalizes instruction for each student, to in-class discourse and collaborative learning activities, the solution delivers an integrated learning experience that accelerates student achievement.

“We are excited to partner with the California State Board of Education to achieve unprecedented student success in K-8 mathematics," says Carnegie Learning CEO Barry Malkin. "Our curriculum brings play back into elementary classrooms and deepens mathematical thinking through high school. Developed by our team of former educators, our HQIMs create meaningful math experiences—from hands-on discovery to AI-powered coaching. We appreciate the rigorous and thorough review process that has recognized the quality and standards alignment of our K-8 math curriculum.”

“California ClearMath was built with California teachers, for California classrooms,” said Amy Jones Lewis, Chief Mathematics Officer at Carnegie Learning. “It brings together hands-on learning, AI-powered coaching, and meaningful collaboration, giving every student the tools to think critically, reason deeply, and truly enjoy math. California’s vision for mathematics education aligns with our mission to help every student see themselves as a capable, curious mathematician, and we're honored that California ClearMath has been adopted to support this vision.”
